Our Story
It began with a jewelry box, tucked away in her mother’s closet in Argentina. Inside was her mother’s yellow gold and the hoops she was never without. Beside them lay the pieces Maria and her siblings received for baptisms and birthdays. Each one was kept safe, like a small treasure. It taught Maria early that jewelry is something you keep, and something made to be passed down.
After studying business in Buenos Aires, Maria moved to New York to study fashion design. There she learned the whole life of a piece, from the first spark of inspiration to the final sample. The city also gave her the woman she designs for: empowered, hardworking and unafraid to chase her dream.
The turning point came on a special birthday. Her mother wanted to give her something meaningful and encouraged Maria to design it herself. With her mother’s jeweler, they brought the ring to life, and Maria realized that everything she had learned in fashion could be translated into jewelry.
In 2023, she founded MYAMIA. The name plays on amiga, Spanish for friend: my amiga, my ami, MYAMIA. It also begins with the M of Maria. Today, every piece is designed to make a woman feel empowered, special and connected.
